Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Saturn Ion 3, 2005 Saturn Ion 2, and 2005 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Use the retaining tab to secure the ECM, when installing the ECM to the underhood junction block bracket.
  2. Fig 1: View Of ECM

  3. Connect the large ECM harness connector (4) to the ECM.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  5. Connect the small ECM harness connector (3) to the ECM.
  6. Connect the negative Battery Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  7. Program the ECM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems.
