Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Saturn Ion Red Line, 2004 Saturn Ion 3, 2004 Saturn Ion 2, and 2004 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the cruise control module to the mounting bracket.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the cruse control module to bracket nuts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the cruise control cable to the accelerator pedal.

    IMPORTANT: The ribbon must not be twisted.
  6. Connect the cruise control cable (2) to the cruise control module ribbon (4).

  8. Insert the cruise control cable into the cruise control module until the seal touches the module.

  10. Position the narrow cable tab into the narrow slot and the wide tab into the wide slot.
  11. IMPORTANT: The adjuster tab must be pointing toward the front of the car after installation.
  12. Connect the cruise control cable to the cruise control module by turning the cable clockwise.
  13. Connect the cruise control module harness connector.

  15. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
