Generator Replacement (LZ4 - Gas, 6 Cyl, 3.5L, SFI, V6, Offset Bore)

Removal Procedure

Important: Service the generator as a complete unit.







1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the generator electrical connections.
4. Remove the generator mounting nuts and bolts.
5. Remove the generator.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

1. Install the generator.

* Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
* Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).


2. Install the generator electrical connections.
3. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) (Service and Repair).
