Test Description

The number below refers to step number on the diagnostic table.

  1. 2:  This step checks if the IPC has the ability to turn the ABS Indicator ON.

Schematic Reference: ABS Schematics 
1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
Using a scan tool in the Instrument Panel (IPC) Special Functions, attempt to turn the antilock brake system (ABS) indicator ON.
Did the ABS indicator turn ON?
Go to Step 3  Go to Step 4 
3 Replace the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup and programming.
Is the replacement complete?
Go to Step 7  -

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Check the IPC connections. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement .
Is the instrument cluster connectors OK?
Go to Step 6  Go to Step 5 
5 Repair the instrument clusters connectors. Refer to Repairing Connector Terminals .
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 7  -
6 Replace the IPC. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup and programming.
Is the replacement complete?
Go to Step 7  -
7 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 2
