Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Raise the vehicle by its full height.




3. Drain the coolant.

* Place a drain pan underneath.
* Install a suitable hose to the drain connection (2).
* Open the coolant drain screw (1).
* Drain the coolant.
* Close the coolant drain screw.

4. Lower the vehicle by its full height.




5. Remove the coolant temperature sensor.

* Disconnect the wiring harness plug (2).
* Disconnect the retaining clamp (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the coolant temperature sensor.

* Lock the retaining clamp.
* Install the wiring harness plug.

2. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
3. Close the hood.
