O2S Test Result (Mode 05 Data)
The O2S Test Result (Mode 5) allows the OBD scan tool to display the test value that was used to determine whether the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) is functioning normally or not. A problem in the HO2S can be found by comparing the test value and malfunction criterion. This procedure is described in "O2S TEST RESULT" (see O2S TEST RESULT ).
- TID (Test Identification) is assigned to each test component.
- Unit Conversion is used to calculate the test value indicated on generic OBD scan tools.
DESCRIPTION
| TID | Unit Conversion | Description of Test Value | Malfunction Criterion |
|---|---|---|---|
| $03 | Multiply by 0.005 (V) | This value is used to calculate TID $31 and $32 | - |
| $04 | Multiply by 0.005 (V) | This value is used to calculate TID $31 and $32 | - |
| $31 | Multiply by 0.04 (Second) | Lean to Rich switch time | Less than 0.9 seconds |
| $32 | Multiply by 0.04 (Second) | Rich to Lean switch time | Less than 0.9 seconds |
| $38 | Multiply by 0.04 (Second) | Average time per one cycle of HO2S voltage | Varies with operating conditions |
