Introduction

During the vehicle Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) or after a repair where the fuse or short pin has been removed, the VSC steering angle sensor must be initialized/re-initialized.

Initialization Procedure

Please perform the following procedure to ensure that the VSC steering angle sensor is correctly initialized.

  1. With the ignition in the off position, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  2. Check that the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position (+/- 30 degrees from straight ahead). If the steering wheel position is more than +/- 30 degrees from straight-ahead position, turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.

  3. Install the fuse/short pin and reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
