Operation Check [05/2013 - ]

1. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the detection area inside the vehicle and the brake pedal is depressed, the engine is started by pressing the engine switch.
2. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the detection area inside the vehicle and the brake pedal is not depressed, the power source mode is changed by pressing the engine switch. The power source mode changes in the following order every time the engine switch is pressed: off → on (ACC) → on (IG) → off.
3. After getting into the vehicle while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly when the engine switch is off, if the engine switch is pressed while not depressing the brake pedal, the power source mode changes to ACC and the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly blinks green.
4. After getting into the vehicle while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly when the engine switch is off, if the brake pedal is depressed while the shift lever is in P or N*, the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green.
   • *: Only when the steering wheel is unlocked.
5. The engine starts if the engine switch is pressed when the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green.

1. Unlock the door using the built-in mechanical key and get into the vehicle while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.
2. While depressing the brake pedal, hold the ornament side of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly against the engine switch.
3. When a buzzer sound is heard from the buzzer, release the brake pedal within 10 seconds. By pressing the engine switch while not depressing the brake pedal, the power source mode changes in the following order every time the engine switch is pressed: off → on (IG) → off.

   HINT: 

   If the entry cancel function is set in customizing, the power source mode changes to on (ACC).

1. Unlock the door using the built-in mechanical key and get into the vehicle while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.
2. While depressing the brake pedal with the shift lever in P, hold the ornament side of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly against the engine switch.
3. When a buzzer sound is heard from the buzzer and the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green, press the engine switch while keeping the brake pedal depressed to start the engine.

With the engine switch off, move the shift lever to P, depress the brake pedal while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and check that the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green. Then, with the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green, press the engine switch and check that the engine starts.
2. With the brake pedal released and the engine switch off, press the engine switch while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and check that the power source mode changes as follows: off → on (ACC) → on (IG) → off. However, if the shift lever is in any position other than P while the engine switch is on (IG), the power source mode will not change to off, but to on (ACC).
3. Stop the vehicle, press the engine switch and check that the power source mode changes to off (the engine stops and all electrical systems are off). However, if the shift lever is in any position other than P, even if the engine switch is pressed while the vehicle is stationary, the power source mode will not change to off, but to on (ACC). Move the shift lever to P, open the door and check that the steering lock operates.
4. Inspect the entry ignition operating range (front floor). Place the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly on the front seat at either inspection point so that it is facing in the direction shown in the illustration and check that the engine can be started.

5. Inspect the entry ignition operating range (rear floor). Place the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly at either inspection point and check that the engine can be started.

   HINT: 

   Perform the inspection for both inspection points.

1. With the engine switch off, depress the clutch pedal while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and check that the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green. Then, with the entry key indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates green, press the engine switch and check that the engine starts.
2. With the clutch pedal released and the engine switch off, press the engine switch while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and check that the power source mode changes as follows: off → on (ACC) → on (IG) → off.
3. Stop the vehicle, press the engine switch and check that the power source mode changes to off (the engine stops and all electrical systems are off). Open the door and check that the steering lock operates.
4. Inspect the entry ignition operating range (front floor). Place the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly on the front seat at either inspection point so that it is facing in the direction shown in the illustration and check that the engine can be started.

   Check that the power source mode changes according to the chart below.

• *: When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the vehicle, the ID code sent as a result from communication between the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and the ID code calculated by the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) are compared. If the ID codes match each other, the vehicle recognizes that the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the vehicle.

1. Indicator Condition Chart

   Indicator	Vehicle State
   Off	Either condition is met: The engine is running. The engine switch is off and the vehicle is in a state in which the engine does not start if the engine switch is pressed.
   Illuminated in green	All conditions below are met and the vehicle is in a state in which the engine can be started if the engine switch is pressed: The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is inside the vehicle, the stop light switch assembly*1 or clutch start switch assembly*2 is on and the shift lever is in P*1.
   Blinking in green (blinking slowly)	The engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG), and the vehicle is in a state in which the engine does not start if the engine switch is pressed.
   Blinking in green (blinking rapidly)	When the power is being turned on or the engine is being started, the steering fails to unlock (steering lock is stuck). The indicator starts blinking when the steering fails to unlock. The indicator stops blinking when 30 seconds elapse after blinking starts, or when the power is being turned on or the engine is being started again.
   Blinking in orange	The steering lock ECU has an internal malfunction. The indicator starts blinking when the steering lock ECU or certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is determined to have an internal malfunction. The indicator stops blinking when the ECU returns to normal or 15 seconds elapse after blinking starts.

   HINT: 

   The engine can be started up with the shift lever in N only when the steering wheel is unlocked. (for Automatic Transmission)
