Transmission Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [05/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (TCM BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A18 TCM connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to TCM)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A18-29 (CANH) - A18-28 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 57 to 63 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (TCM) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to TCM)
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A18-3 (E02) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      A18-33 (E01) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      (to TCM)
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A18-26 (BM) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      A18-34 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      A18-35 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE TCM. Refer to  REMOVAL [05/2014 - ]
