DTC B1760: Occupant Classification Sensor Circuit [05/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Check that the connector is properly connected to the occupant detection ECU.

      OK

      The connector is properly connected.

      HINT: 

      If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

    4. Disconnect the connector from the occupant detection ECU.
    5. Check that the terminal of the connector is not damaged.

      OK

      The terminal is not deformed or damaged.

    NG → REPLACE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Connect the connector to the occupant detection ECU.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant detection ECU. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [05/2014 - ] .
    4. Clear the DTCs stored in the airbag ECU assembly. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [05/2014 - ] .
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    7. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [05/2014 - ] .

      OK

      DTC B1760 is not output.

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTC B1760 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    NG → REPLACE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    OK → See step   3
