Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Pattern Switch (PWR/M) SPORT mode switch status OFF or ON
      • OFF: SPORT mode off
      • ON: SPORT mode on

      Data List values are not normal B

  2. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [06/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:  1

    NEXT 

    PERFORM INITIALIZATION. Refer to  INITIALIZATION [06/2015 - ] 

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the SPORT switch (combination switch assembly).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (SPORT Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (MSW1) - 7 (E) Switch being pushed Below 50 Ω
      3 (MSW1) - 7 (E) Switch not being pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [06/2015 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F26-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Install the SPORT switch (combination switch assembly).

      Refer to INSTALLATION [06/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the A31 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-57 (PWMS) - Body ground Switch being pushed Below 50 Ω
      A31-57 (PWMS) - Body ground Switch not being pushed 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Connect the A31 ECM connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    Result:  1

    OK

  6. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [06/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
