ENGINE 780 in MODEL 453.091/391/491
Location
The EDCU (N127) is located at the rear right on the B-pillar.
Task
The EDCU fulfills the following tasks:
- Reading in sensors and signals
- Control module functions
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals and actuation of components
Reading in sensors and signals
Input factors are read in over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Electric drive CAN (CAN EL)
- Charge CAN
- Electric drive LIN (LIN EL)
Control module functions
The EDCU includes the followings functions:
- Interface (gateway) between the directly connected Controller Area Network (CAN) bus systems.
- Central controlling and evaluation of the interlock circuit
- Accelerator pedal and torque functions
- Creep torque incl. slope compensation
- Torque filtering/load change shock dampening
- Regenerative braking
- Energy management
- Activating and deactivating high-voltage on-board electrical system
- Charging functions
- Pre-air conditioning
- Ensuring and monitoring torque
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Output of signals and actuation of components
Initial parameter are output over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
- Electric drive system CAN
- Charge CAN
- Electric drive LIN
