Shift Operation, ECO Start/Stop Function - GF26.20-P-2003KJ
TRANSMISSION 700.1 in MODEL 453
Function sequence of ECO start stop function
With the ECO start/stop function activated, the combustion engine of the vehicle is switched off automatically without intervention by the driver as soon as the vehicle speed drops below 8 km/h, the transmission is in the neutral position and the clutch is no longer actuated. For an automatic start of the internal combustion engine without further action on the part of the driver, the clutch pedal or accelerator pedal has to be operated or the vehicle speed > 8 km/h. In the process the transmission must always be in neutral position.
The readiness of the engine start/stop function is displayed to the driver through the "ECO" symbol on the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1).
