Select Cable: Removal

  1. Set the vehicle on a lift.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  3. Prior to removal, set the lever to "N" position.
  4. Lift-up the vehicle.
  5. Remove the front and center exhaust pipe. (Non-TURBO model)

    Except 2.5 L U5 model

    Refer to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe.

    2.5 L U5 model

    Refer to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe.

    3.0 L model

    Refer to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe.

  6. Remove center exhaust pipe. (TURBO model) Refer to REMOVAL , Center Exhaust Pipe.
  7. Remove the heat shield cover. (If equipped)
  8. Remove the snap pin from range select lever.

  9. Remove the plate assembly from transmission case.

  10. Disconnect the cable from select lever, and then remove the cable bracket.

  11. Remove the select cable from plate assembly.
