Diagnosis & Repair
- Check for any other DTCs on display. If any other DTCs are on display, inspect relevant DTCs using DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If no other DTCs are on display, go to next step.
- Check vent line hoses. Check the following for clogging of vent hoses between canister and drain valve, clogging of vent hose between drain valve and air filter and clogging of drain filter. If there is a fault in vent line, repair or replace the faulty part. If there is not a fault in vent line, go to next step.
- Check drain valve operation. Turn ignition off. Connect test mode connector at the lower portion of instrument panel (on the driver's side), to the side of the center console box. Turn ignition on. Operate drain valve. If drain valve produces operating sound, contact Subaru Of America (distributor) service. Inspection by DTM is required, probable cause is deterioration of multiple parts. If drain valve does not produce operating sound, replace drain valve.
