1 CHECK CURRENT DATA.
NOTE:

Is the voltage less than 0.2 V? | Go to step 2. | Even if the malfunction indicator light illuminates, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the fault condition, and reperform the check.
NOTE:
In this case, there may be a temporary connector contact failure.

2 CHECK POWER SUPPLY OF TUMBLE GENERATOR VALVE POSITION SENSOR.
|
Is the voltage 4.5 V or more? | Go to step 3. | Repair the harness and connector.
NOTE:
In this case, repair the following item:

3 CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND TUMBLE GENERATOR VALVE POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR.
|
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω? | Go to step 4. | Repair the harness and connector.
NOTE:
In this case, repair the following item:

| 4 CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND TUMBLE GENERATOR VALVE POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR. Measure the resistance between ECM and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B134) No. 26 - Chassis ground: |
Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more? | Go to step 5. | Repair the ground short circuit of harness between ECM and tumble generator valve position sensor connector. |
| 5 CHECK POOR CONTACT. Check for poor contact in ECM and tumble generator valve position sensor connector. |
Is there poor contact in ECM and tumble generator valve position sensor connector? | Repair the poor contact in ECM or tumble generator valve position sensor connector. | Replace the tumble generator valve position sensor. < Ref. to TUMBLE GENERATOR VALVE POSITION SENSOR .> |
