Check Accelerator Pedal Sensor Area (Method With Circuit Tester)

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. < Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Repair Contents. >
  2. Remove the ECM. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Engine Control Module (ECM). > < Ref. to REMOVAL , Engine Control Module (ECM). >
  3. Install the ST between the ECM and bulkhead harness and the engine harness. < Ref. to CAUTION , General Description. > < Ref. to CAUTION , General Description. >

  4. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. < Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Repair Contents. >
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Engine OFF)
  6. Measure the voltage between ECM connector terminals using ST.
    • Main sensor side

    • Sub sensor side

      Accelerator pedal sensor Accelerator pedal Terminal No. Standard
      Main Not depressed (full closed) 29 (+) and 33 (-) 0.3 - 1.1 V
      Depressed (full opened) 2.3 - 3.8 V
      Sub Not depressed (full closed) 31 (+) and 34 (-) 0.3 - 1.1 V
      Depressed (full opened) 2.3 - 3.8 V
  7. After inspection, install the related parts in the reverse order of removal.
