      Clear Memory

    2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    3. Start the engine.
    4. Read [Fuel Rail Pressure A] on "data monitor" using the Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool.

      Data Monitor

Is the value of [Fuel Rail Pressure A] approx. OMPa (0 mmHg, 0 inHg)?

    Yes:  Go to  2.

No:  Check permanent non-occurrence of malfunction Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO)>General Description>INSPECTION>CHECK NON-PERMANENT OCCURRENCE MALFUNCTIONS .

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECM AND FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR (SHORT TO GROUND)  .
    1. Clear the memory. Ref. to COMMON (diag)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    2. Disconnect the connector from ECM.
    3. Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure sensor.
    4. Measure the resistance between ECM connector and chassis ground.
