DTC P2227: Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: Notes

DTC detecting condition: 

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

1. CHECK DTC. 

   Read the engine DTC using the Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   Is other than DTC P2227 displayed? (Current malfunction)

   Yes:  Check DTC using "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   No:  Go to  2.

2. CHECK DATA MONITOR. 

   Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the value in «Atmosphere Pressure» and «Mani. Absolute Pressure», and compare them with the actual atmospheric pressure.

   NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Current Data Display For Engine". Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>SUBARU SELECT MONITOR .

   Is the difference with the actual atmospheric pressure 6.35 kPa (47.64 mmHg, 1.88 inHg) or more?

   Yes:  Replace the part that showed larger deviation from the actual atmospheric pressure than the other.

   • If deviations in value for «Atmosphere Pressure» is larger: Replace the ECM. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) .
     NOTE: The barometric pressure sensor is built into the ECM.
   • If deviations in value for «Mani. Absolute Pressure» is larger: Replace the manifold absolute pressure and intake air temperature sensor. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE AND INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR .

   No:  Even if DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

   NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
