DTC B2781: STEERING LOCK Control Module CONTROL CIRCUIT
DTC detecting condition:
When any of the following conditions is established.
- Steering lock position (inside steering lock Control Module) sensor malfunction
- Steering lock motor driver (inside steering lock Control Module) short circuit malfunction
- Steering lock motor driver (inside steering lock Control Module) open circuit malfunction
Trouble symptom:
- The steering lock cannot be released.
- Engine will not start.
CAUTION:
- For replacement procedure of steering lock Control Module, refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
- Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
NOTE:
When all ECMs connected to collation system LIN bus cannot communicate with the keyless access CM, DTC B2785 is output. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>DTC B2785 LIN COMMUNICATION .
- CHECK DTC

Read the DTC of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2785 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes: Perform the diagnosis of DTC B2785. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>DTC B2785 LIN COMMUNICATION .
No : Replace the steering lock Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>STEERING LOCK Control Module .
