Steering Lock Control Module: Installation

CAUTION:

When the control module related to immobilizer has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration of immobilizer system. For detailed operation procedure, refer to "Type D" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
Do not allow harness and connectors to interfere or get tangled up with other parts.
If the steering wheel and steering angle sensor (steering roll connector) are removed, perform "VSC(VDC) Centering Mode" of the VDC. Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC CONTROL MODULE & H/U)>ADJUSTMENT>VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE .

Secure the steering lock CONTROL MODULE to the steering column.
Use new set bolts. Tighten the bolt until the bolt head is broken (bolt head wrenched off).
Install the column assembly - steering.
Install the universal joint assembly - steering. Refer to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>UNIVERSAL JOINT>INSTALLATION .
Install the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>INSTALLATION .
Connect the battery ground terminal. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
