DTC B2233: Front Camera Circuit Open
DTC detecting condition:
Detected when front view monitor camera abnormality is detected.
Trouble symptom:
Front view monitor camera does not work.
Wiring diagram:
Front view monitoring system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>Front View Monitor>WIRING DIAGRAM .
- CHECK DTC
.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Multi-Function Display]. Ref. to COMMON (diag)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the MFD connector and reconnect it.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Read the DTC of [Multi-Function Display] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2233 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. - CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)

- Disconnect the front view monitor camera connector and MFD connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between the MFD connector and chassis ground.

(i122) No. 2 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 1.5 V or less?
Yes : Go to 3.
No : Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)

Using a tester, measure the resistance between front view monitor camera connector and MFD connector.

(i122) No. 2 - (B284) No. 1:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes : Go to 4.
No : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
- CHECK DTC
.
- Replace the front view monitor camera. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>Camera>REMOVAL>FRONT .
- Read the DTC of [Multi-Function Display] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2233 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes : Replace the MFD. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (MFD) .
No : Malfunction occurred in the front view monitor camera.
