Active test item Contents Execution condition
Fuel Pump Relay ON/OFF of the fuel pump can be set. Ignition switch ON (engine OFF)
CPC Solenoid Valve ON/OFF of the purge control solenoid valve can be set.
Radiator Fan Relay ON/OFF of the radiator fan relay can be set.
A/C Compressor Relay ON/OFF of the A/C relay can be set.
ELCM switching valve ON/OFF of the leak check valve assembly switching valve can be set.
ELCM pump ON/OFF of the leak check valve assembly vacuum pump can be set.
Fuel Pump Control (OFF Drive) Fuel pump can be set to OFF. Idling
Fixed Idle Ignition Timing Ignition timing is set depending on the engine speed. Idling
Idle Speed Control Idle speed can be set. Idling
Injection Stop Mode (Injector 1)
Injection Stop Mode (Injector 2)
Injection Stop Mode (Injector 3)
Injection Stop Mode (Injector 4)
Injector of each cylinder can be set to stop the fuel injection. Idling
Alternator control Alternator control mode can be set to one of the followings:
  • Low mode
  • Middle mode
  • High mode
  • ExHigh mode(1)

Injection Volume - Port Injection
Injection Volume - Direct Injection
Injection Volume - Injection of Control Depending
The fuel injection method can be set to the cylinder injection or the port injection.
The amount of fuel injection can be set.
NOTE: Statuses of the front oxygen (A/F) sensor and the rear oxygen sensor can be checked by increasing/decreasing the fuel injection volume.
  • Engine coolant temperature: 80°C (176°F) or more
  • Engine speed: Less than 3000 rpm
Target Fuel Pressure The fuel pressure can be set. Engine speed: 3000 rpm or less
Fuel Injection Period - Injector 1
Fuel Injection Period - Injector 2
Fuel Injection Period - Injector 3
Fuel Injection Period - Injector 4
Fuel Injection Period - All Injector
The fuel injection period can be set.
  • Idling
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
Activate the ACC Cut Relay ON/OFF of the ACC cut relay operation can be set.
  • Ignition switch ON (engine OFF)
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
Control the ETCS Open/Close The throttle valve operation can be set to throttle open/throttle closed.
  • Ignition switch ON (engine OFF)
  • Select lever: "P" range (AT model)
  • Accelerator pedal: Fully depressed
Power balance (injection stop) - Port Injection
Power balance (injection stop) - Direct Injection
Power balance (injection stop) - Injection of Control Depending
The fuel injection method for each cylinder can be set to the cylinder injection or the port injection.
The fuel injection for each cylinder can be stopped.
  • Engine coolant temperature: 80°C (176°F) or more
  • Engine speed: Less than 3000 rpm
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
Power balance (injection ignition stop) - Port Injection
Power balance (injection ignition stop) - Direct Injection
Power balance (injection ignition stop) - Injection of Control Depending
The fuel injection method for each cylinder can be set to the cylinder injection or the port injection.
The fuel injection and ignition for each cylinder can be stopped.
  • Idling
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
  • Vehicle speed sensor: Normal
Control the All Cylinders Fuel Cut The fuel injection for all cylinders can be stopped.
NOTE: It is possible to check the ignition system for abnormality by stopping the fuel injection during startup cycle and allowing ignition operation only.
  • Idling
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
  • Vehicle speed sensor: Normal
Check the Cylinder Compression The engine speed during cranking can be measured. Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO)>ACTIVE TEST>LIST>CHECK THE CYLINDER COMPRESSION .
NOTE: Fuel injection and ignition for all cylinders are stopped, cranking is performed for approx. 10 seconds, and engine speed for each cylinder is measured.
  • Ignition switch ON (engine OFF)
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
  • Vehicle speed sensor: Normal
Injection Mode Change The fuel injection method can be switched to the following.
  • Control-dependent injection
  • Port injection
  • Direct injection
  • Idling
  • Engine coolant temperature: 80°C (176°F) or more
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
Starter cut relay ON/OFF of the starter cut relay operation can be set.
  • Ignition switch ON (engine OFF)
  • Select lever: "P" range or "N" range (AT model)
  • Shift lever: Neutral position (MT model)
Control the VVT Linear (Bank1) Control the VVT Linear (Bank2) Intake oil control solenoid operation can be set to -27 - 36°CA in increments of 1°CA.
CAUTION:
  • Perform this forced operation after fully warming up only.
  • When this forced operation is performed and improper idling occurs, stop the forced operation immediately.
  • Do not perform this forced operation continuously for one minute or more.
  • Idling
  • Vehicle stopped
  • Vehicle speed sensor system and speed sensor system are normal
  • Initial position learning is completed

(Bank2)
Exhaust oil control solenoid operation can be set to 0 - 51°CA in increments of 1°CA.
(1) Instruction voltage is the same as in High mode.
