Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal

WARNING: Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.

CAUTION: Be careful not to spill fuel.

NOTE: For the removal procedure of fuel filler lid, refer to "Fuel Lid". Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>FUEL LID>REMOVAL .

Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
Drain fuel. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) .
Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
Release the lock (A), and turn the fuel filler pipe protector in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the rear suspension assembly. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>SUB FRAME>REMOVAL .
Remove the mud guard rear RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>REMOVAL .
Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A), circulate tube (B) and drain tube (C) from the fuel filler pipe.
Circulate tube:

Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE D) .

Drain tube:

Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE G) .
Remove the bolt securing the fuel filler pipe.

Remove the nut securing the fuel filler pipe, and remove the fuel filler pipe from underneath of the vehicle.
