Engine Control Module (ECM): Installation
CAUTION:
When replacing the ECM, be sure to perform VIN registration, module registration and immobilizer registration after the service.
NOTE:
When replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the ECM of wrong specification to avoid any damage on the fuel injection system.
- Install the ECM bracket No. 2 and No. 3.
Tightening torque:
7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
- Install the ECM bracket No. 1.
Tightening torque:
7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
NOTE: Install the bracket by aligning it with the alignment mark (a). - Install the ECM.NOTE: Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.
- Connect the connector in numerical order as shown in the figure.CAUTION: To prevent damage to the connector, when connecting the connector, insert the connector straight in until it stops, and while maintaining the position, lock the lever.NOTE: Check that the lever is located at the position shown in the figure (position beyond the lock portion (a)).
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- When the ECM is replaced
- Perform [Entry VIN]. Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO)>WORK SUPPORT .
- Perform [Module registration]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>UNIT REGISTRATION>OPERATION .
- Perform the registration of immobilizer. Refer to "Type H" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
