Engine Control Module (ECM): Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Disconnect the connector in numerical order as shown in the figure.
    CAUTION: Make sure that the lock is released before moving the lever in order to avoid damaging the connector.
    NOTE: To disconnect the connector, press the portion (a) shown in the figure to release the lock and move the lever in the direction of arrow.

  3. Remove the ECM.
    NOTE: Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.

  4. Remove the ECM bracket No. 1.
    NOTE:
    • Perform this procedure only when required.
    • Using a marker pen, make alignment marks (a) to use for positioning brackets during installation.

  5. Remove the ECM bracket No. 2 and No. 3.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.
