Rear Oxygen Sensor: Removal

CAUTION: Vehicle components are extremely hot after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the clips.

  3. Lift up the vehicle.
  4. Remove the under cover front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the under cover front side RH.

  6. Apply spray-type lubricant to the threaded portion of rear oxygen sensor, and leave it for one minute or more.
  7. Remove the clip (A) and remove the rear oxygen sensor.
    CAUTION: When removing the rear oxygen sensor, wait until exhaust pipe cools, otherwise it will damage the exhaust pipe.

  8. Remove the rear oxygen sensor bracket together with the ground cord (A).
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.
