1996 Sidekick With 3-Speed A/T

  1. Apply parking brake. Disconnect electrical connector at shift switch, located on side of transmission. SeeFigure . Connect ohmmeter between electrical terminals on shift switch.
  2. Check that continuity exists with shift lever in Park and Neutral. Check that continuity does not exist with shift lever in any other gears. Replace shift switch if continuity is not as specified.
