Malfunction Criteria And Threshold Value(S)

Adaptation error:

Waiting period after ignition switch-ON, to get plausible battery voltage = 0

battery voltage < 9.039 V or

RPM >= 192 rpm or

Air temperature at the throttle body < 0 °C or

0 °C >= ECT >= 99.75 °C or

Adaptation requested

TPS error or error between actual and requested ETC current

=> Error

Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step <= 0 ms => error detected (adaptation of the measuring amplifier not possible)

Measuring amplifier is outside the defined range:

Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step > 0 ms

(Throttle flap opening angle for electronic throttle control - Position set point request for the adaptation of the measuring amplifier) <= 0.503° TPS

Adaptation value of the amplification factor of amplified TPS 1 < 3.85

→ Amplification too low, error detected

Adaptation value of the amplification factor of amplified TPS 1 > 4.15

→ Amplification too high, error detected

Spring check error occurs during the adaptation:

Throttle position set point during adaptation = Position set point request for the adaptation of the measuring amplifier and Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step <= 0 ms

Throttle position set point during adaptation = 14.997° TPS and Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step <= 0 ms

→ Error detected (throttle position for the upper return spring check not reached)

Throttle position set point during adaptation >= 1.999° TPS

Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step <= 0 ms

→ Error detected (throttle position for the lower return spring check not reached)

Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step <= 0 ms

→ Error detected (L I H position not reached, error in return spring check)

Error occurs in the TPS start check:

Engine not stopped or
battery voltage < 9.039 V or
RPM >= 192 rpm or
Air temperature at the throttle body < 0 °C or
0 °C >= ECT >= 99.75 °C and
Adaptation requested and
Throttle position set point during adaptation >= 14.007 °C
Diagnosis time for each the adaptation and start check step<= 0
→ Error in spring check

battery voltage > 9.039 V

RPM < 192 rpm

Air temperature at the throttle body >= 0 °C

0 °C < ECT < 99.75 °C

And
