Was "Engine and Emission Control System" performed? |
Go to Step 2. |
Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK . |
| 2 |
Check wire circuit
- Turn OFF ignition switch.
- Disconnect connector from IMT vacuum solenoid valve.
- Check for proper connection of IMT vacuum solenoid valve connector at "BLU/BLK" and "GRY/RED" wire terminals.
- If OK, turn ON ignition switch and measure voltage between "BLU/BLK" wire of IMT vacuum solenoid valve connector and engine ground.
Is voltage 10 - 14 V? |
Go to Step 3. |
Open in "BLU/BLK" circuit. |
| 3 |
Check wire circuit
- Remove ECM cover.
- Turn OFF ignition switch.
- Disconnect connectors from ECM.
- Check for proper connection of ECM connector at "E61-21" terminal.
- If OK, measure resistance between "E61- 21" terminal of ECM connector and vehicle body ground.
Is resistance infinity? |
Go to Step 4. |
"GRY/RED" circuit shorted to ground. |
| 4 |
Check wire circuit
- Turn ON ignition switch.
- Measure voltage "E61-21" terminal of ECM connector and vehicle body ground.
Is voltage 0 V? |
Go to Step 5. |
"GRY/RED" circuit shorted to power supply line. |
| 5 |
Check wire circuit
- Turn OFF ignition switch.
- Connect connectors from ECM.
- Turn ON ignition switch.
- Measure voltage "E61-21" terminal of ECM connector and vehicle body ground.
Is voltage 10 - 14 V? |
Go to Step 6. |
Open in "GRY/RED" circuit. |
| 6 |
Check IMT vacuum solenoid valve performance
- Check IMT vacuum solenoid valve referring to IMT VACUUM TANK ASSEMBLY INSPECTION
.
Is check result satisfactory? |
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. |
Replace vacuum tank assembly. |
