Monitor Strategy Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Suzuki Verona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The objective function of the fuel system diagnosis is to monitor the lambda control output and the lambda adaptation values in various areas. It should also cover the PCV monitoring where the lambda control output is considered in the idle range.

Breaking the adaptation and lambda controller limits for a long time, which may have been caused by failures in the fuel or intake system will involve emission rise and therefore shall be diagnosed by fuel system diagnosis. Fuel system diagnosis is active as soon as the general activation conditions are fulfilled and the lambda controller is activated.
