Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Remove engine cover.
4. Remove oil level gauge and its guide.
5. Disconnect ECT sensor connector (1).







6. Remove ECT sensor from cylinder head.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
- Tighten new ECT sensor to specified torque.

Tightening torque
ECT sensor (a): 22 N.m (2.2 Kg-m, 16.5 lbf-ft)

- Refill cooling system.
- Check for coolant leakage from ECT sensor with engine running.
