EVAP Canister / EVAP Leak Check Module Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Hoist vehicle.
  3. For 4WD model, remove rear suspension frame, see REAR SUSPENSION FRAME REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Disconnect EVAP leak check module connector (1).
  5. Disconnect suction pipe (2) from EVAP leak check module and disconnect filler pipe (3) and purge pipe (4) from EVAP canister as follows:
    1. Remove mud or rust around joint by blowing compressed air and release joint lock by fully pushing joint in direction of arrow.
    2. Disconnect pipe joint while joint lock is released.
  6. Remove EVAP canister (5) and EVAP leak check module as assembly.
