DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
Transmission range sensor circuit check for operation using SUZUKI scan tool 
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC.
  3. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
  4. Check transmission range signal ("P", "R", "N", "D") on scan tool display when shifting select lever to each range.

Is applicable range indicated? 
Go to Step 5. Go to Step 3.
Select cable adjustment check 
  1. Check select cable for adjustment, see SELECT CABLE ADJUSTMENT .

Is it adjusted correctly? 
Go to Step 4. Adjust select cable and recheck DTC.
Transmission range sensor adjustment check 
  1. Check transmission range sensor for adjustment, see TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR ADJUSTMENT .

Is it adjusted correctly? 
Go to Step 5. Adjust transmission range sensor and recheck DTC.
Transmission range sensor circuit signal check 
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C166", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C166", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check the following points.
    • Resistance between each of "A1", "A2", "A3", "A4" and "A5" circuit terminals and each terminal at "C166" connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A1", "A2", "A3", "A4" and "A5" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 6. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Transmission range sensor check 
  1. Check transmission range sensor, see TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC, see TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace transmission range sensor, see TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
