Diagnosis Mode Setting And Code Clearing Procedure

Perform the following steps with the vehicle stopped.

  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode of keyless push start system from "OFF" to "ON" while holding seat heater switch of diagnosed seat pressed.
  2. Release seat heater switch, and then give two short pushes on the same switch within 5 seconds. Both MID and LOW indicators in heater switch light up, and HI indicator lights up briefly before it goes out.
  3. Wait 2 or more seconds, and then give two short pushes on the seat heater switch within 5 seconds again. Both MID and LOW indicators go out.
  4. 1 second later, HI, MID and LOW seat heater indicators will each flash 3 times in this order, indicating that diagnosis mode has been established.
  5. If error codes are present, seat heater indicator(s) will start indicating these codes 2 seconds later by flashing in specific patterns. Each code is repeatedly indicated at 2-second intervals as long as diagnosis mode lasts. If 2 or more codes are recorded, they are all indicated one after another in the predetermined priority order (an item has priority over any item listed below in the following diagnosis item table) at 2-second intervals.
  6. Note all recorded errors and then remove their causes. Diagnosis mode is canceled when battery negative (-) cable is disconnected before performing repair.
  7. Clear error codes by pressing seat heater switch for more than 5 seconds after setting diagnosis mode again.

To cancel diagnosis mode, push engine switch to change ignition mode of keyless push start system to "OFF".
