Curtain Airbag - LH - Remove And Replace: Install

  1. Position the LH curtain air bag into the vehicle for installation.
  2. Install the bolts (x8) and fasten the clips (x2) that attach the LH curtain airbag to the body.

    9 N.m (6.6 ft-lbs) 

    CAUTION: All fasteners should be hand-started first to avoid cross-threading, as the fasteners of the air bag are self-tapping. Do NOT use impact tool to install self-tapping bolts. Bolts are equipped with curtain air bag.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket

  3. Connect the LH curtain airbag electrical connector, and then secure the safety lock.

  4. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Secure the LH coat hook bracket to the headliner.

    1 N.m (.7 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended

    • T20 socket

  7. Install the LH rear coat hook screw.

    2.5 N.m (1.8 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • T25 socket

  8. Close the LH rear coat hook screw cover.

  9. Push the LH rear coat hook closed.

  10. Install the clips (x4), tether clips (x3) and hook that attach the LH rear of the headliner to the vehicle.

  11. Install the bolt that attaches the rear headliner to the vehicle.

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket

  12. Install the front passenger sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  13. Position the LH upper C-pillar trim onto the C-pillar, and then fasten the clips (x7) that attach the trim to the vehicle.
    NOTE: Install the seat belt through the LH upper C-Pillar.

  14. Install the rear trunk parcel shelf. See Parcel Shelf - Rear Trunk (Remove and Replace) .
  15. Install the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B- Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  16. Secure the LH front seat belt.

  17. Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the vertical position.
    NOTE: Remove seat cushion protection.
  18. Close the LH rear door.
  19. Move the driver seat to the original position.
  20. Install the driver sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  21. Install the LH upper A-pillar bracket. See Bracket - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  22. Install the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  23. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  24. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
