Turbocharger Initial Checks
- Check air intake for clogged air cleaner, collapsed air hoses, or cracked air intake hoses.
- Inspect exhaust system for restricted exhaust. Check for leaks or clogging between cylinder head and turbocharger inlet. Also check between turbocharger outlet and exhaust pipe.
- Check air intake system and exhaust system for signs of oil leaks from turbocharger. Excessive carbon deposits on the turbine wheel may indicate leaking oil seals in the turbocharger. Replace turbocharger if oil seals are leaking.
