Ignition System: Distributor: Installation

  1. Install new "O" ring into housing. Coat "O" ring with oil. Align protrusion on distributor housing with groove of coupling side. See Fig 1. Insert distributor with flange aligned with nut on valve cover. See Fig 2.
  2. Connect spark plug wires and vacuum hoses. Connect distributor wiring connector. Connect negative battery cable. Set ignition timing. Tighten distributor hold-down bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article.
