Ignition System: Distributor: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect distributor electrical connector. Set No. 1 cylinder to TDC of compression stroke. Turn crankshaft pulley until timing mark is aligned with "0" mark on timing chain cover. Verify distributor rotor position at about 11 o'clock. If rotor is not in proper position, rotate crankshaft one complete revolution until marks are aligned. See Figure.
- Remove distributor cap with spark plug wires attached. Remove distributor hold-down bolt. Remove distributor. Remove "O" ring from distributor shaft and discard.
