Removal & Installation (Tercel)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain coolant. Disconnect accelerator and throttle cables (A/T) from throttle body linkage.
  2. Label and disconnect emission control and PCV vacuum hoses from throttle body. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector. Remove fuel rail with injectors attached. See FUEL INJECTORS & FUEL RAILS.
  3. Remove 2 bolts, 2 nuts and throttle body with gasket. Remove throttle body enough to disconnect coolant hose and 2 air hoses. Remove throttle body.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. See FUEL INJECTORS & FUEL RAILS. Tighten throttle body mounting nuts and bolts to 115 INCH lbs. (13 N.m). Fill with coolant. Connect negative battery cable. Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
