Pick-Up Coil Resistance

Note pick-up coil terminal identification on the distributor. See Fig 1 and Fig 2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between specified terminals. See PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace distributor assembly if pick-up coil resistance is not within specification.

PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Application Pick-Up Coil Terminals (1) Ohms
2.4L (2TZ-FZE) (2) (3) 135-220
2.4L (2TZ-FE) (4) G1 & G- 125-200
2.4L (2TZ-FE) (4) G2 & G- 125-200
2.4L (2TZ-FE) (4) NE & G- 155-250
(1) Specification is with pick-up coil temperature of 14-122°F (-10-50°C).
(2) Supercharged model.
(3) Measure resistance between terminals on pick-up coil.
(4) Non-supercharged model.
