Front Speed Sensor

  1. Remove harness connector clamp. Unplug connector from front wheel speed sensor. Measure resistance between speed sensor terminals. Resistance should be 600-2500 ohms (1997 Paseo), 600-1800 ohms (1997 Tercel) or 1400-1800 ohms (1998 Tercel).
  2. Measure continuity between each sensor terminal and sensor body. Continuity should not exist. If resistance and continuity are not as specified, replace speed sensor. Inspect sensor rotor teeth for scratches, cracks, warping, or missing teeth.
