Rear Speed Sensor: Notes

  1. Remove rear seat cushion. Unplug wheel speed sensor connector. Measure resistance between speed sensor terminals. Resistance should be 800-1800 ohms (1997 Paseo), 800-2500 ohms (1997 Tercel) or 1050-1450 ohms (1998 Tercel).
  2. Measure continuity between each sensor terminal and sensor body. Continuity should not exist. If resistance and continuity are not as specified, replace speed sensor. Inspect sensor rotor teeth for scratches, cracks, warping or missing teeth.
