INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this service bulletin is to clarify the navigation system specifications for certain 2001 and 2002 model year Toyota vehicles.

MAP DATABASE IDENTIFICATION

Use the Applicable Vehicles chart above to determine if an upgrade is applicable to your vehicle, or do the following:

Press MENU.
Press the DVD button on the display.
- Generation 2 map data will be displayed as "data 2000 Ver. 1."
- Generation 3 map data will be displayed as "data 2001 Ver. 1."
  NOTE: Installing a 2001 Version 1 disc into a vehicle that originally came with a 2000 Version 1 disc is a one-way process. Once the 2001 Version 1 disc is inserted into the navigation ECU, the 2000 Version 1 disc may no longer be playable in that navigation ECU.

FEATURES SUMMARY

The features below are some of the major changes or additions to the 2001 model year factory installed software settings. Some vehicles (denoted by the "(3) " in the Applicable Vehicles chart above) have added features that are unique to these vehicles with upgraded navigation ECUs.
