Door Key Lock & Unlock Switch

  1. Remove door panel for access to appropriate door lock assembly on driver's door or passenger's door which contains the door key lock and unlock switch. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect the 6-pin electrical connector at door lock assembly. Note electrical terminal identification on door lock assembly and switch positions. See Fig 1.
  3. Using ohmmeter, check that continuity and no continuity is as specified between indicated door lock assembly electrical terminal for door key lock and unlock switch in relation to switch position. See DOOR KEY LOCK & UNLOCK SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. Replace door key lock and unlock switch if continuity is not as specified.

    Driver's Door
    LOCK 2 & 4 Continuity
    OFF (1) (1)
    UNLOCK 2 & 3 Continuity
    Passenger's Door
    LOCK 3 & 5 Continuity
    OFF (1) (1)
    UNLOCK 4 & 5 Continuity
    (1) There should be no continuity between any terminals.
