NOTE: This procedure was written using TSB BO002-03, dated 01/28/2003.
NOTE: When the battery Negative terminal is disconnected or PWR No. 1 fuse is removed due to the repair, the sliding roof position memory is erased. After reconnecting the battery Negative terminal, make sure to reset the zero point. If the sliding roof has not been reset, the sliding roof AUTO operation functions will not operate.
NOTE: Manufacturer's reset procedure is in Fig 1. If the manufacturer's reset procedure does not remedy the condition, perform the following procedure. If manufacturer's reset procedure does remedy the condition, no further action is necessary.
  1. When disconnecting the battery negative (-) terminal, wait 3-5 minutes before re-connecting the battery terminal.
  2. The Repair Manual provides a reset procedure according to the plant where the vehicle was produced. TMC Camry VIN starts with "J". TMMK Camry VIN starts with 4.
  3. If the reset procedure does not remedy the condition, reset again but disconnect the sliding roof harness from the sliding roof motor and wait for 3-5 minutes.
NOTE: The sliding roof system must be reset each time the battery is disconnected.
  4. If the glass parks in an over-flush or under-flush position with the roof:
    1. Move the glass to the flush position by quickly tapping the switch.
    2. Reset the system according to steps  13 above.
