Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. L side of left/right adjustment switch:

      Inspect the mirror switch continuity.

      Standard (Left side): 

      SWITCH POSITION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
      - OFF No continuity
      4 <==> 8
      6 <==> 7
      UP Continuity
      4 <==> 7
      6 <==> 8
      DOWN Continuity
      5 <==> 8
      6 <==> 7
      LEFT Continuity
      5 <==> 7
      6 <==> 8
      RIGHT Continuity

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    2. R side of left/right adjustment switch:

      Inspect the mirror switch continuity.

      Standard (Right side): 

      SWITCH POSITION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
      - OFF No continuity
      3 <==> 8
      6 <==> 7
      UP Continuity
      3 <==> 7
      6 <==> 8
      DOWN Continuity
      2 <==> 8
      6 <==> 7
      LEFT Continuity
      2 <==> 7
      6 <==> 8
      RIGHT Continuity

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION MIRROR OPERATION TABLE .

      Standard (LH): 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION MIRROR OPERATION TABLE

      Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
      Battery positive (+) <==> MV (3)
      Battery negative (-) <==> M+ (1)
      Mirror turns upward (A)
      Battery positive (+) <==> M+ (1)
      Battery negative (-) <==> MV (3)
      Mirror turns downward (B)
      Battery positive (+) <==> M+ (1)
      Battery negative (-) <==> MH (2)
      Mirror turns left (C)
      Battery positive (+) <==> MH (2)
      Battery negative (-) <==> M+ (1)
      Mirror turns right (D)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION MIRROR OPERATION TABLE .

      Standard (RH): 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION MIRROR OPERATION TABLE

      Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
      Battery positive (+) <==> MV (3)
      Battery negative (-) <==> M+ (1)
      Mirror turns upward (A)
      Battery positive (+) <==> M+ (1)
      Battery negative (-) <==> MV (3)
      Mirror turns downward (B)
      Battery positive (+) <==> M+ (1)
      Battery negative (-) <==> MH (2)
      Mirror turns right (D)
      Battery positive (+) <==> MH (2)
      Battery negative (-) <==> M+ (1)
      Mirror turns left (C)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
