Inspection Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER
- Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Perform the ACTIVE TEST according to the display on the tester.
Transponder key ECU:

OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG: Go to Next Step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Disconnect the T10 ECU and S4 indicator connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition T10-8(IND)-S4-3(1) or S4-2(2) Always Below 1 Ω T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher (1) without TVIP System (2) with TVIP System
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : Go to Next Step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - BODY GROUND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistanceRESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S4-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : Go to Next Step.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance
- INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY
- Reconnect the T10 ECU and S4 indicator connectors.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Security indicator light comes on 10 to 14 V T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Security indicator light goes off Below 1 V
