Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Perform the ACTIVE TEST according to the display on the tester.

      Transponder key ECU: 

      TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ACTIVE TEST LIST

      Item Tester Details Diagnostic Note
      SECURITY INDIC Turn security indicator ON/OFF -

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    NG: Go to Next Step. 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT) 
    1. Disconnect the T10 ECU and S4 indicator connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T10-8(IND)-S4-3(1) or S4-2(2) Always Below 1 Ω
      T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      (1) without TVIP System
      (2) with TVIP System

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : Go to Next Step. 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - BODY GROUND)

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance
      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S4-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : Go to Next Step. 

  4. INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the T10 ECU and S4 indicator connectors.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Security indicator light comes on 10 to 14 V
      T10-8 (IND) - Body ground Security indicator light goes off Below 1 V

    NG: REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY 

    OK : REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY
