How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard Voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Check for output DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC Is output B

      HINT:

      The ECM of this system is connected to the CAN Communication System. Therefore, before starting troubleshooting, make sure to check that there is no trouble in the CAN Communication System.

    B : GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A : Go to next step 

  4. CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT 
  5. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
    2. Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
    3. Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

    Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    DTC Is not output A
    DTC Is output B

    B : GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    A : Go to next step 

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).

    There Is an applicable symptom In the table B

    B : Go to step  8

    A : Go to next step 

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECM (See TERMINALS OF ECM )
    2. Data List / Active Test (See FAIL-SAFE CHART )
  8. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  9. CONFIRMATION TEST
