Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION: Testing

Check all vacuum hoses for damage and proper routing. With engine at normal operating temperature, ensure that choke valve is off. Open and close throttle several times. Valve should open and close with change in engine RPM and close when throttle is closed. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, check that valve diaphragm retains vacuum when open.
